TFHL GETTING READY FOR LAUNCH
The Timeless Fantasy Hockey League (TFHL) is slowly preparing for its 3rd Launch, as version 3.0.
This is the third installment of the popular TFHL League.
TFHL 1.0 - TFHL 1.0 was a short-lived project that last barely a season before suffering from the results of a computer crash in which the database had been corrupted and most of the league information lost. The concept behind the league was that EACH GM would select a NHL Team from its entire 1917-2003 History. For example: GM One could select the 1980 Newyork Islanders, GM Two could select the 1919 Ottawa Senators.
The Database was created with those players and a number of free agents from a number of other teams from history.
Though popular, the computer crash proved the end to the TFHL 1.0 and its concept.
TFHL 2.0 - TFHL 2.0 thats started in the 1979-80 season and ran to the end of the 1985-86 before a series of events lead to its slow and painful demise - a blend of computer issues, chaos in the life of the commish and various negative GMs spoiling the atmosphere. Though a few efforts to keep the league going were initiated, ultimately it was decided to abandon the league with the acquisition of the new SIM software.
TFHL 3.0 - TFHL 3.0 took nearly a year to return to the limelight - with a number of concepts being introduced and abandoned. - First a restart of the initial 1979-80 concept, except with drafted rosters was introduced - but again some negative GM's spoiled the Atmosphere and the Commish resigned out of frustration. A few months later, the Commish decided to relaunch the league but in a more modern time frame, starting the league in the 2005-06 time frame and using a downloaded player database. However, after initial set ups, it was determined that the downloaded player database had been created by some one exceptional lazy with little research into the players of the database and had several hundred players with the exact same statistics. Which required the Commish to rebuild those players, which then resulted in a complete overhaul of the entire Database. The Commish then abandoned this concept, siting that if he was going to have to rebuild a database anyway, he might as well do it from scratch and do it properly. To that end, the present TFHL 3.0 has come into existance. Starting in the 1979-80 Season once again.
